Which Bluebird is this? Bluebird II (actually Bluebird VII but the second Bluebird hydroplane)? I remember seeing a video of the trial where one of the Bluebirds disintegrated after hitting something in the water (probably about the size of a worm casting) but I don't remember that boat having a tailfin for some reason.
