Dear Jim:

There has to be some interaction between the brain and the object. The only thing we can show with science is the interaction. Water has a slight dipole action as the a result of the bonding of two H atoms. Which creates the Hall effect. I stongly suspect you feel the results of the hall effect - just as for a metal object you feel the bend in the earth's magnetic field.

Now in the same way as your pidgeon finds its way home so probabily do you find water, there is a warp in the magenitic field. (Just to note the medical community now do electric shcok therapy with strong magnetics.

The human brain has to obey the laws of physics as well as the rest of the world. Theonly interaction that makes sense is magnetic - electric.

I suspect again with no proof that one day we will map the human chromosomes enough to show that some people share a gene with pidgeon that allows this miracle.

If oyu ask yourself is the an advantage to the human in having an inability to find water in a dry arid region - yes- then Darwin suggests that those with the ability live whilst those without perish in the desert.

So I do not doubt your ability - I merely suggest that one day science will remove the mystery - without resort to superstrings.

John
