While not strictly an AR posting, I thought Dave Bamford's TarBoard friends might like to know that this ex-Brit, now a genuine Aussie and by way of being a good mate of mine, satisfactorily underwent hip surgery here in Melbourne yesterday.
Although the poor chap has to spend Christmas in hospital as a result, he said the operation would be the best Christmas present he'd have had in ten years.
And to give this at least the verisimilitude of an AR posting, here's a picture of Swallow -- not the small sailing dinghy we usually think of in connection with the name, but Dave's own boat which (between hip operations) he's busy working on.
