I did a review of the book in Mixed Moss but due the constraints of space was only able to give a mere taste of its contents. It felt to me as if Rodney Dingle (the author) was writing about a kindred spirit. Roger had a very interesting life - full of bustle and business. Not one to sit down and take anything on face value, always putting himself at risk to cross the next barrier if the result was worth the danger. Overcame a number of physical difficulties (asthma etc) as well as the burden of being the only son to achieve many things. My view of AR's Roger was slightly coloured by the (dare one say it?) slow dimwit they had to play him in the 1974 film but the book removes all that. I would have liked to have met him.
