This was brilliant - the best winter I can remember.

Wonderful snow. Wonderful skating on frozen rivers. All very like WH. One day we got up to find our Morris Minor convertible completely covered - and completely filled inside - with powder snow. At times the windscreen got so iced up that we had to lower the hood (as it is called over here) put cushions on the seats and look out over the top. But it always started instantly.

Yes, it was a bit cold. It took us nearly a month to get the temperature of our unheated bedsitter up to zero. But that added to the fun.

Possibly, however, it was in the circumstances a good thing we were only just married!
