OK Marmite is a sticky brown substance, made out of yeast extract, that you spread on toast, in sandwiches etc. A smililar product (similar but not the same) is Vegemite from Australia.

Isn't it associated with brewing? One of the byproducts of yeast production for beer?

Many countries have their own versions; I know Switzerland has one called 'Cenovis'. Same ingredients on the label, but like Marmite/Vegemite, it too tastes different. It's less salty. It's my favourite version by far...
