Presumably the person who wrote the blurb for the Puffin edition of
Winter Holiday was some minion at Penguin who was not familiar with
the books. Similarly there is at least one transcription error in
a placename in the main map in the Puffin edition of either
Pigeon Post or Swallowdale: KANCHENJUNGA appears as KANCHENJUNOR.
Probably caused by another (or the same) non-fan trying to read the
not very clear hand-printed name in the hardback edition. I may have
noticed other errors in the Puffin maps but that's the only one I can
remember offhand.
