Jonathon,

I have Gardner and Chappelle by my beside.

I am going to use the ladder frame method.

I will laminate the stern from a stock, I reckon 2 inch wide should mix up the grains so that the transom will not warp. I will look at the glues.

I prefer the gudgeons, I used the long rod in my old Pelican and it was nothing but a pain.

Ed showed me a stern shot of the Amazon and she has a long rod for the tiller, and interestingly enough she has the traveller shown clearly.

Scarad did not have knotch in the trasom for sculling over the stern, is that true of the original boat.


I am going to use White Oak.
