Aha. The argumnnt is really whether Swallow is a "better" boat than Amazon.
It's been established that Amazon is faster, but of course there are more things to "goodness" in a boat than speed. Roger, for instance, can't squeeze in forward of Amazon's mast the way he does in Swallow. And as for that centreboard case -- take it from me, necesary it might be in Amazon, but evil it is too.
I think there's not too much doubt that Swallow is a more comfortable craft, although not as handy a sailer as Amazon. But which is the better boat depends entirely on one's personal boating values.
