Secret Water is in fact the Walton Backwaters, about a mile down the coast from Harwich, and behind 'The Naze'on your map.

If you'd be interested in sailing there in the 'Goblin', from Pin Mill, get in touch with me, and/or visit the Nancy Blackett website.

I can recommend all the books mentioned elsewhere, but particularly Claire Kendall-Price's for exploring the Lake District sites

ps sorry to correct David but GN is based on the Isle of Lewis, not Skye
