No, no, no - please, Joy, not in Mixed Moss. Don't get me wrong - as an email Ed's piece works really well, because website postings are halfway between a letter and a conversation. We all know Ed, and I always like reading his messages. But Mixed Moss in cold print in the cold light of day is another matter. I thought the 'shortened stories' in Tarboard a few months ago were hilarious, but in Moss they looked somehow a bit flat.

I regards Ed's message as personally directed to the Tarboard 'community' (if I can use the word) - please don't cheapen the moving spontaneity of the posting by hanging it up in Moss as if in an art gallery. I really do object to the way anything interesting on Tarboard is immediately recommended for Moss - please no, they are two totally separate forms of literary communication. And do please remember that Tarboard is not a TARS site - there are lots of Tarboarders (-ists?) who are not in TARS and don't wish to be, and therefore will not be interested in Moss.

Leave Tarboard alone!!!
