I think the ref you seek is from John's Gospel, Ch 21 Ver 6. It isn't the instance where Jesus first called Simon-Peter to be his disciple, but three year's later, where he appeared to Simon after the resurrection. By repeating the feat of turning a fruitless night's fishing into a hugely successful one, Jesus was effectively revealing his identity in a way that only Simon and the other disciples would have recognised.

Incidentally, the huge catch was recorded as 153 fish (verse 11) which was clearly far above the norm for the Sea of Galilee. How that would compare to the average for a Lowestoft drifter I don't know.
