havent actually made it to Stratford in 35 yrs, & will now have 2nd thoughts! As far as AR & overpublicizing goes, I dont think we have to worry - we older fans are dying out or becoming less mobile. (Go see everything while you still can, I say).
But you have to expect serials like Brideshead, movies like Sense-Sensibility to be a powerful draw for N. Americans (esp. the HBO variety)(& Commonwealth?), with massive articles in the NY Times Sunday Travel section with maps, accomodations..want to bet the Eagle & Child pub in Oxford will be jammed this summer? http://www.theonering.net/scrapbook/torn/tolkien/range/37
The British Travel Board seem to be a teeny bit slow on the uptake--- maybe just as well. (E.g. the National Trust vigorously plugs T E Lawrence and his haunts).
Now you've got me planning for this May!
