Its interesting about the editions with the pictures on the dust jacket - those pictures were what got me into reading Ransome as a very lonely eleven year old.I doubt I would have ever looked at his books (my tastes veered more towards horses in those days) but in lines of fairly boring solid coloured library books, Ransome's stood out. First read - completely hooked!
