Going through the Extra Features DVD for the Disney show, "Beauty and the Beast", with two of my grandchildren, I came across the following quote, all highlighted there on the screen, all by itself:

"All books are divisible
into two classes --
the books of the hour and
the books of all time."

-- John Ruskin

They went on to tell about the development of this Disney feature, how it came about, some behind the scenes stuff, etc...

But this statement stood there, all alone, like a visual "fanfare of trumpets" that seemed to blare forth.

I hope that these books of Ransome will prosper as an example of "the books of all time." I would hate to think they will fade even as we ourselves fade into the reaches of time. It is up to the younger generation to make this happen, if only we can get them to it, to see it, to learn to appreciate it, and finally, to come to love it, somewhat like what we have come to feel.

For if they don't, it is their loss...
