Or what sets of parents would abandon their offspring for a week in "uncharted waters" (SW)? Or for that matter, allow children 7-12/13 to do much of any of the SAD's adventures, largely unsupervised? I've always marveled that children that young were so "capable" of doing so many things that seemed rather daunting for my similarly-aged group two decades later.
