My son and I came over in 2000 for the AGM. We bought a Brit Rail pass here. I felt that the price was reasonable though I don't remember how much it was. With the pass, within the month we had, we could get on and off as many trains as we wished. It was great for going centre to center. It was good to rent a car in the lakes area for a few days but was probably an expense we could have done without.

One great pleasure was getting a sleeper car on Scot Rail for an overnight from London to Inverness. it saved us from staying in London.
