I am sorry to hear that the relations between AR and his first wife and daughter Tabitha were the subject of a detailed paper at the last Lit Weekend. At the 1993 Lit Weekend, it was felt by many that these events were complex, sensitive and private and ought not to be explored further. They have no bearing on the books, and should be left alone as a private matter. We can never know the full circumstances and should therefore not sit in judgment.
