The play is still online as of today (friday) at:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts/ram/afternoonplay_mon.ram

If it disappears before you get the chance to listen then I've got a copy.

In the opening words of the play Prince Alamayou says:

"It's the 20th of October 1879. I'm lying in my bed at 1 Hollin Lane Far Headingly, Leeds where I lodge with my tutor, Professor Cyril Ransome"

In the background various voices are discussing his illness and saying it could be pneumonia or pleurosy.

Thus he wasn't found dead in the WC and it implies he passed away in bed at the house.

Simon
