The Amazons had been camping on Wild Cat Island for “years and years” but they had only got “Amazon” and were able to sail only recently! Up till then they must have rowed to Wild Cat Island in the Beckfoot rowboat!

Yes, it can’t have been Mrs Blackett wanting them back for meals in SA, it must have been the GA (in the first book, not just in SD)! A one day party (with Nancy & Peggy in best frocks to hand round drinkies - Colonel Tommy Jolys must have been there) would not account for that.
