Ah............ speaking ones mind.

Dick is the scientist we all know who gets lost within his mind and gets sidetracked. My wife accuses me of that all the time, although she is lot like Dot and forgives and sometimes understands. (Not always).

Dot is the perfect character - which does not mean she is not real to me I think she is the most 3D character of the books, I can see her and feel her as you do - I must say that the Dot character in the movies was about as perfect a model as one would want. ( Just out interest who played that role? Has she been in anything else?

She has character and purpose, I think highly of Dot and Dick. Dot is the perfect foil for Dick - he would have a hard life if there was someone who yelled at him all the time to get back on plot or to do this or that (I know this for a fact as I have a wife now who is a lot like Dot.) Life may be 95% perspiration and 5% inspiration but the 5% comes from the wonderful people like the SAD children. They are each special.

Yes AR created real people, the D's just are great characters as well.
