"he can make such wonderful characters who remain friends of the reader for so many years."

These Ransome people were my childhood friends. I grew up with them and felt I knew them. They continue to be dear friends that keep me forever young as I slip away from the world of today and rejoin their company. They have always been there for me, and they have become quite real. It is an amazing relationship, but one that has stood the test of time. John, you have stated that very well and by so doing have shown that I am not alone in that feeling.

Many have asked, "Are they real?" For many of us, the answer is obvious.
