To be rather pedantic:-

1) While taking the Great Aunt back to Beckfoot it was Dorothea who was "full of dread" lest the Great Aunt should ask "Do you know my nieces?" She had already said without embarrassment that they knew the Swallows and that they were not in the area. But we can be quite sure that neither she nor Dick would have lied if asked the direct question about the Amazons.

2) In WH it was only John and Susan who were bothered about promises and so decided that they could not sleep in the houseboat. And it wasn't camping which worried them - it was leaving Titty and Roger alone, possibly with the no sailing at night promise thrown in. Since Roger was using matches in an empty house they had every reason to be worried. Peggy had no worries about it at all, except that she was not prepared to sleep on the houseboat by herself.
