Did anyone else catch the article in The Times (online) April 23? Headed "Democracy flourished in the shade of the Jolly Roger" it goes on the point out that pirates were really a friendly lot, hardly ever torturing anyone, and with only one recorded instance of walking the plank. What next? Are we to learn that Amazon Pirates had ruth after all?
