In terms of signaling between rooms/under table etc., we simply used softer taps for dots and louder ones for dashes.

Latin translations I believe to be in print are:

Author/Title(s)
Munro Leaf, Ferdinandus Taurus (Ferdinand the Bull)
A.A. Milne, Winnie Ille Pu (Winnie the Pooh); Winnie Ille Pu Semper Ludet (The House at Pooh Corner -- not exactly a precise title translation!)
J.K. Rowling, Harrius Potter et Philosophi Lapis (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone)
Antoine Saint-Exupery, Regulus (The Little Prince)
Dr. Seuss, Cattus Petasatus (The Cat in the Hat); Virent Ova! Viret Perna!! (Green Eggs and Ham); Quomodo Invidiosulus Nomine Grinchus Christi Natalem Abrogaverit (How the Grinch Stole Christmas)
Shel Silverstein, Arbor Alma (The Giving Tree)

(Now, who will tackle Ransome?)
