You put me to shame, Prue (not for the first time). There are two miles of such Roman walls where I live, and I walk along a 100 yards section every other day as a short cut thinking about something else entirely (eg AR, or British youth). Not to mention half an amphitheatre, a hypocaust . . . All ignored by us locals. I must try to be more like Dorothea and use my imagination.
