I thought there had been previous discussions on Tarboard of websites where you can look at maps of any chosen bit of Britain at varying scales. They are useful, among many other things, for the Broads books as well as WDM/SW, and for finding locations mentioned on the Lakeland Cam. There's Multimap,

http://www.multimap.com

Streetmap,

http://www.streetmap.co.uk

and the Ordnance Survey

http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk

For example, one of the things you can do with the Ordnance Survey site is to click on "browse the map shop", then on "Go to Explorer maps", then on the right-hand half of the little orange rectangle marked 184, then on "Preview the folded-out map". Alternatively you could use the Get-a-map facility on the front page.
