A matter which has made me pause for thought:
The luff of the Goblin's sail is aatached to the mast with mast hoops. This is normal on, say, a gaff-rigger which does not have mast spreaders. However, the Goblin does have mast spreaders, and my question is, how do the hoops get past the spreaders when the sail is being hoisted? Or are the hoops attached to the sail below the spreaders, and does that mean that the entire luff of the sail that goes above the spreaders is not attached to the mast? It seems this would just about preclude being able to sail to weather.
I appreciate any help in advance.
Ben
