Yes, Mr Farland spoke of “Old Sonning” in BS, and said he was acting for Sonnings the boatbuilders at Potter Heigham. George & Ralph had taken 1˝ gross of shackles (1 gross of 2” and ˝ gross of 1”) and the rest were in GO’s toolshed. As 6 of Sonning’s yachts had been set adrift too, they must have been hiring out yachts as well as building them?

PS: According to Joe, his Dad said that “Yarmouth sharks’d grab the bottle from a baby”. Am glad for my Cornish ancestors that someone said that not all “Cousin Jacks” were ship wreckers!
