Well Bovril is the brand name for a Beef extract; for drinking or flavouring!
Bridget may have recognised the bottle, or she could have been learning to read even if not yet at school, nursery school, kindergarten or whatever. Probably being privately tutored by Mother & Nurse?
I thought Bovril was mentioned during the discussion on Marmite & Vegemite which are trade names for Yeast extracts.
