The YEW tree is not good pub, drink only at the Dead Lion and the chef there is brilliant,
in Windermere in the main street there is a cafe on a corner ( two roads split, on the third floor is a great reading and eating set up,
avoid the ground floor.)
if you hire a car get the excess down as low as possible the roads in the lAke district are really narrow - we lost 500 pounds to a dent.
Buy a S&A beanie in the Boat museum.
have fun and expect to spend 150 pounds a day+ in England.
