I really enjoyed "The Return". I'm not entirely sure if that was due to my attachment to the original which I do feel you need to have read before “The Return” although it was so different. I did, however, enjoy some of Greer's other books which I went on to read afterwards. I think JB might have enjoyed it if he knew the context in which it was written. I do seem to remember that he rather enjoyed the film of the 39 steps which, again from memory, his family and friends were not keen on.
