When I started reading the series, I started and read them pretty much in order - just sort of happened that way - maybe they were arrainged on the library shelf that way. Then, I really liked Peter Duck and Missee Lee, possibly Peter Duck a bit more, but I enjoyed THE ENTIRE SERIES for being what each one is. I still think Peter Duck and Missee Lee are great stories. Just like in our own lives, we have chapters of different happenings and experiences.

Like people and places, each one is unique. That is what made (to me) the entire series special and meaningful. I still relate to the adventure of Peter Duck and Missee Lee. When I was in Boy Scouts, we made a Dragon with a Cub Scout pack modeled on the one in Missee Lee - I played Roger (of course none of the other kids had read or had any inking of the stories) and lead the Dragon around the floor with a pearl at the Boy Scout Circus in Enid, Oklahoma in 1949.

In conclusion, I know some folks like some of the stories more than others, which is natural; but the twelve make the whole - with out any one, the entire group is lacking.
