I can explain that to Lawrence Monkhouse - in fact his posting demonstrates it. As far as I am concerned, there are too many 'do's and don'ts' and people prepared to dress you down at the slightest mistake, even of dress. I would prefer outdoor activities where people simply want to get on with it and don't care who you are or how you are dressed or whether you have a telescope. They also don't mind if you are a 'nob'. To be fair, I can't believe that sailing is as bad as LM & Co make it sound.
