For sailing, as for fell walking, I tend to follow Wainwright's practice and wear the clothes that are no longer fit for anything else. Plus the cheapest oilskins, which I have occasionally worn on the fells as well.
But surely shops in Keswick are full of fashionable and expensive clothes aimed at fellwalkers?
