It may be that Richard's query has been answered privately, but in case it hasn't, the article is in the Winter 2000 Mixed Moss. The article is adapted by Jill Goulder from an original article by Sheila Ray, and it points out that there was another heroine called 'Nancy' in the girls' school stories of Dorita Fairlie Bruce.
