I borrowed Lennox's - The Blackspit Smugglers - from our library. I enjoyed the read and the picture it painted of life in England in 1939, but it is not as good as Ransome. Lennox has us assume that the adults can not make deductive choices, this is required to keep his plot moving along which is a bit hard to accept at times and the yarn woudl have been stronger if the adults were as normal as Capn Flint.

I just put Dan Fords picture of the crossing on my web site.
