I'm sorry Mike but if you are going to make politically contentious statements you should expect a bit of flak, especially if you get your facts wrong as Jim has explained. I think everyone who has taken an interest in UK access issues has heard the old chestnut about fields and front lawns many times. The analogy is false; a field isn't a farmer's garden it's a workplace and one that it is pretty heavily subsidised out of the public purse at that. Given that landowners have, pretty much, had their own house of parliament until the latest 'reform' of the House of Lords the idea of them as a disadvantaged minority is a bit hard to take.
