Surely the fact, as Andy points out, that the farmer's field is a workplace is even more reason for not allowing all and sundry to have open access to it? I wouldn't expect to be able to stroll through a pharmacological lab because there was a nice view from one of the windows. If this is a 'false analogy', perhaps someone can point out a truer one.
