I found that interesting as the only instance of an imaginary friend in my family was my daughter's one, 'Nady'(pronounced as for lady) who arrived when Laura was around two years old and disappeared around three and a half, much the same time as her younger brother was born. She still remembers Nady fondly, but the real thing was so much more interesting (Sam hit the ground running!) that imaginary didn't cut it after that.
