In one of the other Lake books, John & Roger initially decide to have just a quick morning wash, but after a word from Susan they decide to put their heads under the waterfall and have a proper wash (SD?). And they decide to believe that it was their intention all along to do so! Don’t cross the mate!
After the dowsing episode in PP, Titty is quite upset, and Susan I think says to the others that Titty probably has one of her “heads”. They seem to accept that she is unwell sometimes.
