If we weren't yet aware of just how dangerous the sea can be the earthquake off Malaysia and the resulting (at this date over 80,000)deaths due to the resulting tsunamis should be a wakeup call for those who think the sea is a kind and gentle thing. I would urge all those who had a happy and affluent Christmas to put their hands in their pockets further for the people from Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and also the tourists from Europe, America and Asia who are suffering from not only the tsunamis but now lack of medical supplies, food, clean water and knowledge of what happened to friends and family with them.
The Red Cross would probably be the most effective body to give donations to but embassies of the countries involved would be most grateful and would know who to forward it onto.
