I seem to remember us choosing favourite AR quotes on Tarboard about a year, maybe two years, ago. If I recall rightly, the all-round favourite was the last sentence in WH, Ch V:
Softly, at first, as if it hardly meant it, the snow began to fall.
That is a wonderful image, but my own favourite, because it made me laugh as a child, and still does, is Susan's reply to Roger when he is reluctant to go to his tent and turn in after the night sailing episode and says 'It's tomorrow' (SA Ch XXII):
'I don't care if it's the day before yesterday . . March!'
