And Kanchenjunga or Coniston is just a large hill! Calls to mind the film about the surveyors who “went up a hill and came down a mountain” or was it vice versa? Something to do with the minimum height of “mountains” in Wales; what was the magic minimum height?

Though in New Zealand only the South Island runs to 12,000 feet (3764m) peaks like Mt Cook, Ruapehu in the North Island is 2797m. Well I have climbed Egmont (Maori name Taranaki) - in sandshoes in summer (only 2518m).
