but the Australian version seems a bit tidy, compared to the English one! As has been said, there are few trees in the Walton Backwaters, which is the principal difference, perhaps, but it lies in a shallow depression surrounded by low hills, which sometimes afford a view right across it from their modest summits, but which also afford the boater a sense of distant vistas.
