Dear Tony, Do your readers realise about the power and description of the Lake District by Hugh Walpole as described by you in an excerpt from Rogue Herries. If not they are in for a rare treat. I read them many years ago and have recently re-read "Rogue Herries" and "Judith Paris". I bring to mind the description of David and Deborah riding horseback from Keswick to Borrowdale in driving rain which they took no notice of as it was normal weather. I have "The Fortress" and "Vanessa" on order at the moment as I lost my original copies several years ago. Watendlath brought this to mind as it is a fair while since we have been up there though have passed the turning several times. The Bookshop where I enquired was quite amazed that they were not on the normal stocklist. They said "but those are a well known classic books. Why are they not available?". No answer from me so I have ordered them from Amazon and eagerly await their arrival when they manage to track them down.

This email was on the Lakelandcam site today. Does anybody know the books, I could only find the first in our library.

John
