They're reddish-brown, with the males being more so than the females, which tend to the greyer. So I'd expect individual variations (both in moth colourings and in human colour vision) to be possible factors. In PM, IIRC, Dick was looking for a larva; was Roger also looking at the larva, or at an adult?
