Prices of materials for boatbuilding (or for fitting-out too, for that matter) tend to be a good deal higher than the same materials meant for non-boat use, so by no means should you go to "boat suppliers" unless you're forced to.

That US "board foot" is our old "super foot," which I've always thought to be a very useful measurement -- metricated out of existence here now unfortunately, our politicians having being gulled into jumping on the French Fad band-wagon despite all informed advice to the contrary....
