I remember having two folks walk to school with me when I was 12 to 16 years old, so I suppose I was a little late in having my imaginary friends disappear. One was an American Indian, and one was a German. They didn't have names, just titles; The Indian and The German (complete with capital letters).

When my own daughter was three, we moved from Alaska into a motorhome so we could travel around North America for a few years. I remember asking her if 'Sarah' were going to be traveling with us, or if she would be staying in Alaska. We discussed all the pros and cons of bringing 'Sarah' with us or letting her stay with 'her parents', how she would feel if she came with us, how she would feel if she stayed in Alaska and missed our daughter, how our daughter would feel if 'Sarah' stayed in Alaska and was missed, what would happen if 'Sarah' were accidently left at one of the National Parks we planned to visit, and so on and so on. Eventually, 'Sarah' decided to stay in Alaska except for a few visits with us in our motorhome, but she did show up again when we stopped and rented a house in Washington State three years after leaving Alaska.

We seem normal to me!
