EB is ok for a 10 year old who likes the odd mystery story and likes plots with lots of girls. She isn't AR but then again AR is not James Joyce. We can not compare them, but I can object to the banning and the idea that kids can not have fun as expressed in these books - except of course for James Joyce who seems to have been obsessed with women's bloomers if I remember correctly. I can not say I enjoyed JJ - but then again half way up Kachenjunga I may have said the same thing.
